At this point of my life I want to get rid of the toxic and bring in more positivity and value. My personal Facebook account was among the first to go. Yes it was there for me to share and connect but it wasn't so success for me. I didn't have much in common with anyone on my friends list and simply didn't car too much of what there were posting.
Additionally, the time I spent scrolling through my feed could have been the time I could have been doing something that I enjoyed. Countless animals, babies, and dancing videos are cute but I'm choosing not to spend my time watching others.
I would follow account in my interest but in the end it was all marketing and not real connection. Instead of hiding behind my screen I wanted go to events related to my interest and connect with real people that I can see and have conversation about anything. Not just like and move on. I wanted to my connection to lead into real long lasting friendships. Being a student living in NYC I should take full advantage of what the city has to offer.
